There are many levels of the peel. Mild peels have minimal to no downtime and cause peeling and/or redness. Deeper peels will cause redness, peeling, sloughing, and mild sensitivity. The skin condition, type of acid peel received, and the strength will depend on if you peel or not. Chemical peels are meant to stimulate the skin and no matter if it is a light, medium, or deep peel, they will change the skin.
Many treatments take weeks of daily use before your skin improves. Some acne may take up to 3 to 6 months to clear up with consistently targeted in-office treatments and a healthy home care regime
Having one every three to four weeks helps you maintain that beautiful glow. If you have acne prone skin every two weeks it is recommended you wait until the skin calms down and the acne goes away.
